Alloy 600, also known by the names 2.4816,Inconel 600, NiCr15Fe and UNS N06600, is a nickel-chromium-iron-based alloy.
Below is our breakdown of its key technical features:
- Europe: 2.4816 | NiCr15Fe
- USA: Alloy 600 | UNS N06600
- Europe: EN 10095 | DIN 17742 | DIN 17750-17754
- USA: ASTM 5665 | B166 | B564 | ASTM 5540 | B168 | B167 | B517 | ASTM 5580 | B163 | B167 | B516 | B751
- Maintains good mechanical properties at various temperatures, whether high or low.
- Offers good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, especially at high temperatures.
- Excellent corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments containing dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride.
- Very resistant to oxidation, carburising and nitriding.
- Alloy 600 can undergo solid solution hardening, but won’t harden via traditional heat treatment methods. Its mechanical strength can be enhanced through cold working.
